I always found the idea of traveling the world with nothing by the wind as ingenuity. Inspired by the movie Master and Commander the Far Side of the World. I find historic tales of explorers traversing the seas into the unknown a heroic and scary notion. Forging their very path in a plane of openness that is both beautiful and dangerous. Whilst I don’t want to encounter dangers and be lost out in sea by myself, the idea of infinite possibility and freedom appeals to me.
Today, I set forth on my solo sail, albeit it was a short 3 hour session, I was proud I had remembered all I was taught in my sailing course and was able to sail and return by myself. It was a small win and I felt proud of myself for learning and trying new activities.
My journey to learn sailing later, but for now, just marking here my first solo sail and the beginning of new adventures!
